Whenever I visit any place, the first thing that comes to mind is food. Udaipur is famous for its Dal Bati Churma, Gatte Ki Sabji, Ker Sangri Ki Sabji, and Kadhi Kachori. You get this food all year, and it is a must-have. If you are a non-vegetarian, do try their Laal Mans and Mutton Keema.

To beat the heat- Do try Gola or Chuski. It is a crushed ice delicacy on a wooden stick, flavored with various flavors, colors and a sweet and tangy taste.

You can also try Aam Panna, lassi, shikanji, and milkshakes in the city restaurants to keep you hydrated throughout the day. Also, you will get many sugarcane juice stalls on the streets of Udaipur to keep you going.

Monsoon Palace looks splendid during the rainy season but it is also best in summers. This white marble castle built by Maharaja Sajjan Singh is a sight to watch. Also known as Sajjan Garh Palace, it was built to keep track of the astronomical movement of the sun. It is just 5 km from the city center and is open all day for visitors. The best thing is after coming to this palace you can go to the nearby SajjanGarh Zoological Park.

SajjanGarh Wildlife Park is a natural open zoo that holds natural beauty. This zoological garden makes people aware of Mewar; ‘s flora and fauna. Animals kept here are similar to their natural habitat and don’t feel like a zoo. It is more like a wildlife safari.

There are many animals, like Hyena, Deer, Himalayan Black Buck, Tiger, Leopard, Junglee Cat, and many more, that you experience here in the zoo. It has open spaces, spacious parking, and golf carts for untiring journeys. There are drinking facilities at specific distances and a canteen to relish Mewari food items.

Walking Street of Fateh Sagar

Fateh Sagar – The Marine Drive of Udaipur is famous for its Man-made lake surrounded by Aravalli mountains. Built by Maharana Jai Singh Ji in 1678 AD and was rebuilt by Maharana Fateh Singh Ji. It is the hot street of Udaipur where locals love to dive in the cool lake water in the summers. People enjoy swimming and walking in Fateh Sagar.

Recently, Akshay Kumar and Shenaz Treasury visited Udaipur in May 2024. She acknowledged that locals do Pranayam, cycling, and early morning jogging. Well, it is also famous as an evening walking street in Udaipur. You can also go for a boat ride to capture some breathtaking sunset views.

There are 2 km long roadside eater shops that serve yummy Indian and Chinese dishes at reasonable prices. We recommend you come here at night. Trust me you will love the vibe.

Boating at Lake Pichola is a must-do activity when visiting Udaipur, also known as the “City of Lakes.” The serene lake offers a picturesque view of the surrounding palaces and Aravalli Hills, making it a perfect way to relax and enjoy the beauty of Udaipur.

There are two types of boats here- paddle boats and motor boats. Also, there are two boarding points- at City Palace and Lake Pichola Municipal Boat Ride Point. You can take the ride from anywhere.

Timing– 10 Am to 5 PM. However, some operators may offer sunset cruises in the evenings.

There are two famous water parks in Udaipur- Marvel water park and Jheel water park. Both are superb ways to beat the heat and spend a day with family and friends.

  • Marvel Water Park: This water park is a great option for families and has a variety of water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, and a kids’ play area.
