Gaurvi Singhvi

Gaurvi Singhvi’s list of accomplishments is awe-inspiring. At the age of 16, she etched her name in history by becoming the youngest person in the world to successfully swim across the English Channel. This incredible feat, achieved in August 2019, saw her navigate the challenging waters between southern England and northern France, covering a distance that links the southern part of the North Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. Her determination and endurance were on full display as she completed this arduous swim in a remarkable 13 hours and 26 minutes.

Gaurvi’s excellence in the sport extends beyond this groundbreaking accomplishment. She has secured an impressive tally of 43 gold, 19 silver, and 5 bronze medals in various State and National level championships. Notably, she holds State records for both the 1500m and 800m long-distance swimming events. Additionally, Gaurvi’s prowess extends to open-sea distances as well. She was recognized as the fastest girl at the age of 14 to conquer open-sea distances of 37 km and 17 km in the Indian Ocean, completing them in 6 hours and 35 minutes, and 3 hours and 58 minutes, respectively. These remarkable achievements have been duly noted and certified by the Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association.
