This temple is on the main road on Sajjangarh Road in the Mallatalai area of the city. This temple is also considered one of the major Ganesh temples of Udaipur. Priest Radheshyam Sukhwal said that earlier, people of the Sisarma and Nai-Bujhda areas used to offer milk here before going to sell milk in the city. Due to the consecration of Lord Ganesha with milk, he got the name Dudhiya Ganesha. It is believed that people used to pray in this temple for the good business of milk. On the occasion of Chaturthi, Ganapati is decorated with velvet fire.

The history of this temple is linked with Sajjangarh Fort. Before the construction of the fort, Gajanan ji was established in the year 1874-84. Grand events are organized every year on Ganesh Chaturthi. A huge bhajan evening and mahaprasadi is organized.

This temple is on Samorbagh to Dudhtalai road. There is the Pichola River nearby. The idol of Ganesha was installed 300 years ago before the construction of the lake.
